Xu Guangsong began his teacher career in the special education since he was graduated from Nanjing Special Euducation Normal School at the age of 19. During these years, dozens of students trained by him goaled numerous medals in national and international special olympic competitions. All these athletes found jobs after graduation, and successfully made an independent living.

In April 2009, Mr. Xu was formally appointed as the Visiting Professor by Liaoning Normal University, Institute of Physical Education, where he would use his practical experience to guide the undergraduates majored in special education on the cultivation of intellectual disabilities. A teacher from a primary school thus became a visiting professor in the university. “Under his guidance, I learnt a lot that could not be learnt from books,” Ni Boran, a student enrolled in 2006 said.

So far the senior students in special education had got more job offers than all other undergraduates of the Institute. Since the special education course was introduced in 2005, the Institute has been trying to give students more chances to learn practical experiences through the cooperation with Special Schools. This time, Xu Guangsong will be invited to teach the special education methodology with his years of working experience.
