President Hu Visited Special School in Heilongjiang

 

On June 28th President Hu Jintao paid a cordial visit to Liaoyuan Special School in the city of Harbin during his inspection tour in Heilongjiang Province.

In the school President Hu joined and helped students who were performing a sensory integration training program. He also finished a finger painting together with the young painters in another training room.

President Hu was welcomed by fourteen Special Olympics champion athletes, who hang out the most valuable gold medals especially for his visit. Hu sincerely wished these children a happy and healthy life with the help of their teachers and the whole society.

Before his leaving, Hu expressed his appreciation to the faculty for their dedication to the noble career of special education. He praised them for years of hard working, as well as selfless love and devotions to the intellectually disabled children. Many teachers were moved into tears.

Liaoyuan Special School was founded in 1984. At present there are totally 216 enrolled students suffering from various intellectual disabilities, such as brain paralysis and autism. The faculty consists of 46 teachers with an average age of 32 years old.
