Mattel's Alfred Chan carries the Paralympics Torch in Shenzhen, China

Alfred Chan, Vice President of Global Procurement at Mattel Asia Pacific Sourcing Limited (MAPS) in Hong Kong, .and William Yao, Sr. Manager HR at MAPS in China, had the honor of running in the Paralympics Torch Relay in Shenzhen, China.

The Paralympics follows each Olympic Games and allows athletes with physical disabilities to compete in a global games experience. The honor of running with the torch is bestowed only on select individuals and both William and Alfred were chosen to run in honor of Mattel's global partnership with Special Olympics.

Both William and Alfred were honored to keep the torch they ran with and have shared it with local employees in their respective offices, hundreds who have lined up to take photos with the torch.

In partnership with Special Olympics since 2005, Mattel have made a difference in the lives of thousands of young athletes with intellectual disabilities through funding and employee volunteer support through Team Mattel.
