On August 15, 2008, amid the excitement of the on-going Beijing Olympic Games, part of the UBS employees in Beijing and Shanghai received their Olympic tickets distributed by the company. No wonder all these lucky ticket-winners wear broad smiles.
Of course, the happiness of the UBS employees comes from more than the expectation of having a chance to watch the Olympic Games proudly in their home country, but also from the fact that the payment they make for the tickets will be part of the special donation to Special Olympics in China.

SOEA representatives receive the donation from UBS Beijing representatives
The ticket payments are donated to Special Olympics East Asia office in Beijing and Special Olympics Shanghai office. The donation will be used to help Special Olympics to develop the movement further in China, which now serves over 780,000 Special Olympics athletes across the nation.
UBS has been a major partner of the Special Olympics East Asia, which provides sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, since 2006. The company has funded many SO projects across the region, and its employees in Beijing and Shanghai offices have also volunteered in various SO activities.
While receiving the donation, Special Olympics representative says, “We highly appreciate UBS and its employees’ continuous support to Special Olympics movement in China and other East Asia region. AS a major corporate sponsor for SOEA, UBS has been providing great support to various SO projects in the past few years and benefiting hundreds of thousands mentally disabled people in the region. The company, together with its employees, has set a good example for being a socially responsible corporate citizen in local communities.”
